Reality of Hair Extensions Reviews - Part 1
If some of you have me on facebook then you might of seen that it is my birthday soon. You may also have noticed that I have been looking to get some new extensions with the money I get from my birthday. Now because I write my blog and im genuinely interested in all things to do with beauty and fashion I like to research a product a few months before I think of purchasing it. This could be by looking on their website or going on instagram. However my favorite thing to do is look at YouTube videos because I feel that the people who upload are usually normal teens just like us and will give an honest opinion. By looking at YouTube videos you can also see the quality and state the extensions are in after a while of being purchased and after products and heat have been added to them.
The first set of extensions I will be talking about is the extensions that I brought off eBay and this is the reason why I now research everything before buying them. I dont know if many of you have brought many extensions before but I have brought a few in the past thats why I feel I can give a fair opinion on them. This is also why I can say NEVER buy cheap extensions from eBay thinking that they will be okay because mine cost around £60 all together including post and packing and they are the biggest load of rubbish that I have ever brought in my life.
When they arrived to my house they came in the normal clear plastic case with each piece already having the clips attached. So far so good. When I put them in my hair yes they did blend very well and were a perfect match which was brilliant. Nothing wrong there. After a few days I noticed that the extensions were starting to get really knotted and looked battered already and I found myself having to brush them for what felt like 24 hours a day. Now I know that yes its not as strong as actual human hair and that it is basically dead hair but I knew something wasnt right because of how dry they were so i decided to wash them. When doing this I did it all the correct way after watching many YouTube videos on how to do so but after doing this it made it 100 times worse. They just looked battered, weak and dry and didnt blend in with my hair any more.
After this is decided to trim the ends thinking that it would help, however the more I cut of the ends the more they looked damaged and false. I tried putting a deep conditioner on it to see if I could try and save them but all that did was just made me waste money. I still have them now but no way do I wear them!
Ive kept them because in the future I hope to review brands such as Foxy Locks, Luxy locks, Bellami hair, Sarahs hair extensions and many more. By keeping my old extensions I can compare the quality of the hair and show that even though some are expensive at the end of the day you honestly do get what you pay for with extensions. This is where my new blogging series comes into it. I am doing a new blogging series called "Realities of Hair Extensions" and obviously this is the first one. I wanted to do this because many people might not know where to start looking when it comes to getting their first extensions and what are good quality's to find in them. I know I certainly didnt. So I wanted to blog about this so I can help you find your perfect brand.
Here are some photos of the condition the extensions are in now only after a few times of using them.
As you can see just from the photos above they are all split at the ends and dry and this is after trimming them.

With good quality extensions you usually cant see through the hair because of the quality and thickness of it but again with this specific weft you can see that it is full of gaps where large chunks of hair have fallen out and where the connection between the weft band and the hair isnt very secure.
I know i started off with a bad brand but I just wanted to show you that just because some brands look good but are cheap it doesnt mean that they will be any good.
If there are any brands that you would like me to review or any questions that you want to ask me about extensions and personal experiences then my social media links are below. I also want to say that I am obviously not a professional and I dont want to come across as one I am just talking from about 5 years of experience when using different brands and after watching millions of YouTube videos about them. I hope this has helped anyone that is curious and I cant wait to do a blog about an actual good brand of extensions.
